Hi everyone, Mama Kat here. I consider myself an A+ organizer and planner. I was pretty skeptical when I learned about the popularity of Bullet Journals, and the art of an analog system of organization for our digital age. After all, I have an iPhone that reminds me of all upcoming events and important dates. I have emails filled with data and information. I have social media that keeps me updated with current events. I use Trello.com and To Do Lists at work to amp up my productivity. I know my shiz, and I'm one calm and collected cool cat.
I'm also always curious, and you know what curiosity does to cats. So I did some research, read up on bullet journaling, and I'm intrigued. Maybe it's just a fad for the middle class, maybe I'll toss my journal aside in a month's time... that all doesn't matter as I must quell my curiosity! I must start a bullet journal myself!
Over the weekend, I tested out bullet journal, and created a notes section in one of my existing journals. In my spare time these days, I am training to become Six Sigma Certified (Green Belt and then Black Belt). You can probably guess that I'm a lifelong learner who just can't stop bettering myself! I employed bullet journaling techniques in note-taking, and I loved it! Writing down notes just helps you remember, and collect your thoughts. So I'm in.
Bullet Journal Materials Needed: I went on to buy a *Northbook Notebook (dot-gridded) and Micron Ink pens of assorted colors off of Amazon.
Bullet Journal Word of the Year: I will begin my journal for the year with an inspiring word. My bullet journal word of the year will have to be CHERISH. Sometimes, I think of Kim Kardashian and all that she has (plus that booty that twerks and makes literal waves), and I'm admittedly green with envy. Then I remember what I already have in life, the people who love me, and all that I've accomplished and I'm reminded that I must always CHERISH each and every moment... I made a printable using Canva.com, and after printing it and cutting it out, I'll paste this either to the cover of my new journal, or the inside of the cover. I'm also inspired to doodle a CHERISH flower myself.
Another nice bullet journal word of the year could be LUCKY. Acknowledge how lucky you are and Lady Luck will shower more luck upon you for your appreciation.
GROWTH is another inspiring word; as humans, we have the privilege to grow throughout our lives, and grow and enrich the lives of others.
Life is always brighter when we're humored. CHEERS, my loves. Smile, embrace life, and be joyful.
As your Bullet Journal brings order, joy, and peace to your lives, LOVE will flourish and grow.
Bullet Journal Stickers: I think of bullet journals as a scrapbook, diary, planner, and organizer in one. You can definitely fill it up with stickers, artwork, and pictures!
Bullet Journal Topic Pages: Some topics you can include into your bullet journal include a Gratitude Page: who do you owe your thanks to? And a birthday page, detailing the upcoming birthdays of all your loved ones and friends.
With the help of a bullet journal, I am sure you can easily LIVE YOUR DREAM and REACH FOR THE STARS!
