Honest Review of Allbirds Trino™ Puffer and Honest Review of Allbirds Wool Lounger Fluffs : Should you buy the Allbirds Trino Jacket?
Hi friends! I recently purchased an Allbirds Trino Puffer Jacket and a pair of Allbirds Wool Lounger Fluffs, both in natural white. What sold me on the puffer jacket was how it’s weather resistant and made with Allbirds’ proprietary Trino material. The outer layer is weather resistant thanks to its coating of Bluesign® certified fluorine-free Durable Water Repellent (DWR). The puff effect is achieved through an animal-friendly fill, a combination of TENCEL™ and recycled polyester. The only part of the jacket that has some animal product is the neck lining which has merino wool.
The jacket is not cheap as it will set you back $250 (USD). It is very well made, and if you’re looking for a puffer jacket with an exaggerated puff, this is the jacket for you. If you’re a big-breasted woman like me, however, there will be an exaggeration to the profile and silhouette of your goodies. Just saying. I suspect this puffer would look more flattering on people with thinner frames. The Trino Puffer jacket is carbon neutral as per Allbirds: “Our Trino™ Puffer is carbon neutral thanks to a combination of sustainable practices, like using natural materials and carbon credits. But before we balance the emissions, its footprint starts at 20.9 kg CO2e. Think of this measurement like a nutrition label for your closet.” Allbirds.com
I like how the jacket is minimally branded. It’s also very comfortable. The inner lining feels silky and smooth. What I would love is a detachable hoodie— while my body remained warm and dry on a rainy Seattle day, my head was left with no cover. I usually wear a cap, but I had forgotten it that day. Additionally it would be wonderful if the pockets came with zippers or a button; I worried my phone and wallet would slip out of my pockets.
Washing and caring for the Trino Jacket
“Machine wash cold with like colors on gentle cycle. Line dry only. Only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Cool iron if needed. Do not use softener.” Allbirds.com

Final thoughts
I like this jacket and will not return it. It will be my go-to jacket this winter. It is a carbon-neutral puffer jacket filled not with duck feathers or down, but with recycled materials (animal friendly). It is warm, weather-resistant, sturdy and attractive. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, try the UNIQLO down puffer jackets— they are light but they are not weather-resistant, and they are predominantly stuffed with duck down/feathers.
As for the Allbirds wool lounger fluffs, I believe they are now sold out as of 11/19/2020. They are very comfortable, and great for use at home, since you’ll be spending most of your time at home anyway. Why not give your feet luxurious kisses with each step? Please read my wool loungers review here— while the wool lounger fluffs run a little smaller than their wool lounger alternatives, they are basically the same as their wool lounger alternatives.
So friends, what do you think of Allbirds’ Trino Puffer Jacket and the new fluffy wool loungers?
